Building future coaches with our Inclusive Coaching Workshop

We recently delivered an Inclusive Coaching Workshop at Canterbury College, with 17 students taking part.

The session focused on adapting activities so more people can join in and feel welcome. Students explored practical coaching approaches that can make sport more accessible in real settings.

Activities included Boccia, invasion games and visually impaired sport. These were supported by simple but effective tools such as STEP (Space, Task, Equipment, People), helping students think about how to adapt sessions for different needs.

Marie Kasambalis, our Workforce Development Officer, said: “It was a pleasure to work with such an engaged group. They really embraced the practical elements and showed a strong understanding of how to adapt activities to include everyone.”

This was our fifth visit to Canterbury College. Each time, we’ve been so encouraged to see students grow in confidence and develop a clearer understanding of inclusive coaching in practice.
