A young fundraiser contacted us after discovering Disability Sports Coach (DSC) online.
Ed, 23, has cerebral palsy and says we’re a cause worth fighting for!
His own experiences growing up made him aware of the lack of opportunities for disabled people in sport.
He took part in an Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) contest, raising more than £700 for DSC.
Ed said: “Sport and exercise is just about the best prescription for good health, but a lot of disabled people are being excluded from it.”
He won the contest and told us: “It was a nerve-wracking, especially when I found out that my opponent was a black belt in kickboxing.
“But I held him down for three rounds – to pull off a win in a competitive contest was just brilliant.”
We are so grateful for Ed’s support – it will help us ensure that more disabled young people can more sports, more of the time.
