Inclusive coaching goes international in Barcelona

More than 30 coaches gathered in Barcelona for a day focused on one simple goal: making sport more inclusive.

For the first time, Disability Sports Coach delivered an international training course. Thanks to our partners, Nike, we worked alongside local groups to share practical approaches to inclusive coaching. The theory sessions were delivered in Spanish by local experts, while our team led the practical activities, exploring how small adaptations can open up sport to more people.

Together, coaches tested ideas, shared experiences and looked at how sessions can be adapted so disabled people feel welcome, confident and able to take part.

Workforce development has always been central to Disability Sports Coach’s mission. When coaches have the skills and confidence to include everyone, more people have the chance to be active in their communities.

Barcelona was an exciting step forward and a reminder that wherever you are in the world, sport is better when everyone can take part.
