Paralympian Ellie Simmonds visits Club Brent

It was fantastic to welcome Paralympian Ellie Simmonds to Club Brent!

Ellie gave so much of her time to our members and staff 💛

She led the warm-up and took part in all the sports hall activities at Willesden Sports Centre.

Ellie met members, had endless photographs taken – and gave out countless high-fives!

And all with a smile on her face.

Ellie was full of warmth, encouragement and positivity.

Her visit was in the role of ambassador for Sure’s Breaking Limits programme, which works with our charity to support young people in breaking down the barriers to movement.

Disability Sports Coach founder Peter Ackred said: “Everyone has the right to move and get active but there are too many barriers to sport and physical activity for disabled people.

“We are delighted to have the support of Sure’s Breaking Limits Programme and to host Ellie Simmonds at our Brent club.

Ellie said: “It’s so wonderful to see the enthusiasm and joy here today.

“Places like Club Brent are so important to make sure people of all abilities build confidence and feel they belong.

“To all these young athletes: keep pushing your limits—you’re capable of amazing things.”
