Trustee Sam Vardy has completed an ultra marathon to raise funds for Disability Sports Coach.
He conquered the South Downs route, covering 100-miles in a breath-taking 21 hours 34 minutes!
Sam, who kept his energy levels up on the run with a diet of Hula Hoops and Haribos, said: “The challenge became simply to put one foot in front of the other, keep eating, and keep believing I could finish.
He added: “The support of sponsors really helped me push on as I entered the final stages, out in the dark of the Sussex hills, with just my headtorch lighting the way.”
His family also supported him at the finish line, with his wife and two children running the final 400 metres of the course with him in the early hours of the morning.
Sam is passionate about the work of Disability Sports Coach and said: “Everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of physical activity, and the fun, friendships and fitness it brings.”
If you can make a donation, however small, please do so here. It will help us ensure that no one misses out on sport.
