Disability Sports Coach partners with The Fore to expand inclusive sport

Disability Sports Coach is partnering with The Fore to strengthen and expand our work with people with complex disabilities.

Disabled people are still far more likely to be physically inactive than non-disabled people. For those with complex disabilities, opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity can be even more limited. A shortage of coaches with the skills to adapt activities remains a significant barrier.

Support from The Fore enables Disability Sports Coach to recruit a specialist Community Coach, working directly with groups that support people with complex disabilities. Alongside directly delivering sessions, the role will upskill our existing coaching workforce, increasing our capacity as demand for our services continues to grow.

Amardeep Gill, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Disability Sports Coach, said: “This partnership gives us the capacity to say yes to more opportunities. We can also plan sustainably for the future. Crucially, it means more disabled people can be active in ways that work for them, with clear benefits for physical and mental health.”

Our partnership supports our wider mission to ensure disabled people can access meaningful, inclusive opportunities to be active within local communities.
