Chris boxes at Clapham Grand for Disability Sports Coach

He’s swapping the office for the boxing ring and calls himself ‘The Punching Penfold’.

Chris Mounsey-Thear, the ex-Chair of Disability Sports Coach, is preparing for a white collar boxing match at The Clapham Grand to raise funds for DSC.

While admitting his credentials are lacking in the ring and that he’s named after a short-sighted, chubby hamster (Penfold in Danger Mouse), Chris is undeterred!

Even a previous pummelling in the ring delivered by a ‘fitter, taller and far better boxer’ hasn’t put him off.

Chris is now all set to box again in aid of his favourite charity and says whatever he takes on the chin will be worth it.

He said: “Having been involved in DSC for over a decade – from helping it move from a small company into a wonderful charity and being Chair for a number of years – I have always marvelled at the life affirming work every employee and volunteer does in supporting people with disabilities to enjoy the physical, emotional and social elements of sport.”

Chris is also hoping to lose a few pounds in weight, while gaining some much needed pounds in money for DSC!
