Club Camden Preparation begins for ‘Give It A Go! Day 2014

On Saturday 17th May 2014 DSC provided adapted sports to over 300 people with disabilities and their families at Talacre Sports Centre as part of Active Camden’s Give it A Go! Day.

The day was a huge success as residents of Camden enjoyed non-stop, exciting, mini-games in Boccia, New Age Kurling and Polybat with DSC Coaches Lucy Wright, Ziggy Sommers and Syreeta Stracey. Coach Lucy was proud to be part of the day stating, ‘It was such a fantastic event and was very enjoyable to be able to provide taster sessions to people from the local community.’

DSC were invited to the event to start local community outreach, promoting the soon-to-start DSC Community Club Camden. Club Camden will start this September 2014 at Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre and will go ahead every Wednesday from 5-6pm.

Jessica Neece, Camden’s Active For All Project Manager, arranged the day and was very pleased with the outcome. “Some parents commented that they did not know so many adapted sports existed and were thankful for organisations like Disability Sports Coach who are so committed to inclusion in sport and are able to offer an activity for every ability level.”
