Club Derby: Club Lambeth vs Club Wandsworth 2017

Local rivals Club Lambeth and Club Wandsworth kick started our Community Club Derby series in a friendly interclub competition on Tuesday 12th December 2017

Club Lambeth members travelled to Club Wandsworth’s base at Caius House Youth Centre to see if they could win against the reigning champs. This year the two clubs competed in Golf and Boccia to see who could come out on top.

Community Golf delivered the golf competition, who brought challenging but wonderful putting practices. Both clubs rotated around 4 challenges, scoring points at each one. Coincidentally both teams were neck and neck at the end of the golf, both scoring an impressive 110 points!

During half-time Club Wandsworth performed a very well executed dance routine which they had been practicing at the club weeks before – check it out in the video below. Specials thanks to Step Change Studios for showing our members the moves and preparing them so well!

It was down to Boccia to settle the score. After 2 matches, each club had won one each – you couldn’t write this! However after the 3rd match it was Club Lambeth that came out on top, talking the title of ‘Community Club Derby Winners’. Well done to Club Lambeth members Charlie, Louis, Andre, Ollie Ray and members from Oak Lodge School for an impressive performance throughout the competition and also Club Wandsworth for being tough competitors!
