Club Westminster members attended the Active Westminster Awards on Friday 7th December 2018, after being shortlisted for the Active Inclusive Award for the third year in a row
Club Westminster members Joshua, Chaimae and Volunteer Jay attended the awards evening along with their parent and carers, Mary and Denise. Dressed to impress, Club Westminster were ready to celebrate all of the achievements that come out of the Active Westminster Awards 2018!
The Active Inclusive Award “recognises individuals, clubs or facilities that create and deliver inclusive activities for deaf and disabled people”. Club Westminster is one of our 13 Community Clubs in London that delivers weekly multi-sports sessions for anyone with a disability. Every club is fully inclusive with specially trained coaches and volunteers to cater for a wide range of needs.
Up against tough competitors in Step Change Studios and Safe Haven Basketball it was certainly going to be difficult to go back to back! Big congratulations to the 2018 winners – Rashmi Becker and Step Change Studios.
Club Development Officer, Laura Abrahams said “It’s important to reward our members with the achievements they have helped us to reach! There is no doubt that the night was a lot of fun for all those involved and we look forward to seeing what the next year brings.”
