Disability experts up-skilled to deliver inclusive sports sessions

On Wednesday 22nd March 2017, we held a ‘Coaching Disabled People’ workshop for an array of delegates with a common interest – to improve their knowledge of Adapted Sports!

Hosted by Everyone Active at The Castle Centre, we were delighted to welcome a great set of delegates who were all looking to improve their knowledge of adapted sports and their rules, tactics and drills. Together with basic disability awareness principles, each delegate completed the course knowing they could deliver suitable sports sessions for their service users in the future.

Those in attendance included former GB Paralympian Kate Grey, Snowflake, Michael Tippett & Chailey Heritage SEN School teachers, Access Sport apprentices and Everyone Active coaches and all thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Tara Morgan, Snowflake School commented “Very informative & interactive. Enjoyed learning about sports I had never heard of!”

Kate Grey, former GB Paralympian noted that it was “useful to explore adaptions for different impairment groups” and that the “training guide will be very helpful to take away and use!”
