Disability Sports Coach partners with Nike to remove barriers to play

Disability Sports Coach is proud to be working with Nike to create a more diverse workforce and enhance the lives of disabled people across London.

Our charity is one of 12 organisations selected by Nike who are working to create a world where equal opportunity exists on and off the field of play.

Nike is partnering with organisations that address inequities across race, gender, sexual orientation and disability to help remove barriers to play in Europe.

Peter Ackred, CEO of Disability Sports Coach said: “We are proud to be working with Nike.

“Disability Sports Coach exists to break down the many barriers to participation in sport that disabled people face.

“With award-winning community clubs and online sports sessions, we support thousands of disabled Londoners to keep fit and connected.

“Our reach extends to mentoring teachers to adapt sport for disabled pupils and offering training courses, but we are always looking to go further.”

The organisations benefiting from Nike’s Inclusive Community grants operate in London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Jannine Bardouille, Director, Inclusive Community Portfolio, EMEA, said: “The Inclusive Community portfolio represents a collective of incredible community leaders and organizations across Europe.

“Each one committed to using the power of sport to both uplift and empower those from non-dominant and marginalized communities.”
