Students from Spa School won 3 golds and 1 bronze medal in Shot Put, Javelin and Long Jump and gained an additional bronze in the relay at Croydon’s Disability Sports Games on 6th May 2014.
Students from Spa School won 3 golds and 1 bronze medal in Shot Put, Javelin and Long Jump and gained an additional bronze in the relay representing Southwark at Croydon’s Disability Sports Games on 6th May 2014.
DSC Coaches Adam Williams and Luke Brook, who started the process of finding Southwark’s next generation of talented athletes as part of Run! Southwark Track Stars programme in February this year, were ecstatic and proud of the students achievements.
Coach Adam, tweeted: “Spa School got 3 golds and 2 bronze medals in the Croydon Disability Sports Games! Very good day for Southwark and @DSC_13 #ohyeah #awesome”.
Up against other schools from Croydon, Lambeth and Lewisham, Southwark are keen to develop as part of the Run! Southwark programme.
Southwark Track Stars established by Run! Southwark and delivered by DSC coaches, were set the task of hand-picking and nurturing the next talented athletes who reside in the borough.
Luke will continue to coach at Spa and Tuke school, preparing them for the LYG Paragames Athletics Competition on June 19th where all will be hoping for more success!
