Fun friendly sport days for The Village School

On Friday 29th July and Friday 5th August we made our way down to The Village School to run a day filled of inclusive sports for groups of youngsters.

The Village School has been running a holiday camp this summer for young people to try a host of activities from swimming to crafts and even ICT! We were kindly invited along to run a variety of sports for participates to get involved in. Some of the activities included Paralympic sports such as Boccia and New Age Kurling as well as trying their hand at some other sports too!

After the first week of practice, the participants were put to the test in a friendly competition sports day on Friday 5th August. The participants enjoyed playing in individual scoring competitions as well as working within a team to score team points. Each participant was rewarded for their hard work on the day.

Lauren, our Coach Development Officer enjoyed running the sessions, “When the element of competition was brought to the session, it was amazing to see everyone’s enthusiasm flourish to try and achieve the best they can achieve. Not only was everyone trying their best for themselves but for their teammates too”
