London Youth Games New Age Kurling Tournament

We are delighted to support the London Youth Games with this year’s exciting para programme designed to encourage greater participation in sport from young disabled people across the capital.

The London Youth Games encompasses a season of events taking place over nine months including both School and Community competitions across 30 different sports.

We played an important part in the delivery of the New Age Kurling tournament which took place at Redbridge Sports Centre and included teams from 16 London Boroughs. Our role included training young leaders at Eastbury Community School, Barking to give them the skills and confidence to officiate at the competition. Our team were also responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the competition and ensuring that the disabled competitors enjoyed participating in such a prestigious event.

London Youth Games’ Sports Development and Delivery Officer (Disability), Dhruvi Shah, told us, “I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Disability Sports Coach for your support for the New Age Kurling event. The kids and teachers enjoyed themselves and commented on how well planned the event was. It was great to have your support throughout the day. It was great to see so many children with special educational needs (SEND) taking part and enjoying themselves.

“The young leaders were great, encouraging and cheering the children during each of their goes!”

We are now looking forward to playing a key role in this year’s Sitting Volleyball competition taking place on Thursday 16th June. Watch this space!
