On June 17, a team of over 20 people from project management consultancy Mi-GSO | PCubed will take on the legendary National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Disability Sports Coach.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales – all within 24 hours!
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) with a total ascent of 3,064 metres (10,052 feet). That’s TEN TIMES the height of The Shard in London – the UK’s tallest building.
The challenge continues Mi-GSO | PCubed’s long history of supporting Disability Sports Coach. Since 2018, their incredible team has:
- Entered over 50 people in the Big Half Marathon in London, raising over £9,500
- Shared skills and expertise to improve the way we work and grow our charity
- Volunteered to help us deliver vital in-person and online events like our Inclusive Sport Summer Festivals.
Paul Evans, Principal Consultant at Mi-GSO | PCUBED, said, “Disability Sports Coach provide a fantastic service for disabled people across the capital by providing access to sports facilities and events. Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity are a passion for Mi-GSO | PCUBED and we are pleased to support Disability Sports Coach in helping them provide a diverse range of activities.”
Peter Ackred, CEO of Disability Sports Coach, said, “We’re proud to have a long-standing partnership with such a committed group who share our values of empowering people through sport.
“Mi-GSO|PCUBED support since 2018 makes a huge difference, helping us reach 100 disabled people every year through our inclusive Community Clubs and our free online activity sessions, while helping us provide free sports equipment packs throughout lockdown.
“Disabled people have limited opportunities to be active, affecting physical and mental health. Every step the team takes during the National Three Peaks Challenge will help us bring disabled people together through inclusive sport, and make a huge difference to so many lives.”
We’ll be sharing updates on our social media on how training is going for the team, so remember to give us a follow!
The team are aiming to raise £3,064 – £1 for every metre of ascent. Over £900 has been raised so far! To show your support, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mp-3peaks
