New after-school club in Tower Hamlets
25th May 2022

A new after-school club in Tower Hamlets will be launched after half term, running for six weeks!

We are excited to announce the launch of an all new after-school club for disabled children aged 8-16.

Taking place at Mile End Leisure Centre, the club will launch on 8th June and will initially run for a period of six weeks. It will take place from 4.30-6.00pm on Wednesday afternoons. Sessions will be delivered by Coach Sheila and will be free of charge during the six week pilot.

Sessions will consist of a variety of traditional and adapted sports and are suitable for children with any impairment.

Community Club Tower Hamlets will continue to run at the same venue on Tuesday mornings.

Peter Ackred, CEO of Disability Sports Coach, said, ‘We are thrilled to be launching this new after-school club in Tower Hamlets for six weeks. And thanks to the support of Tower Hamlets Council, we’re able to offer each session completely free of charge during the pilot.’

‘In these challenging times, we want to make our sessions as accessible as possible for disabled children in Tower Hamlets to enjoy.’
