We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve received support from the Social Enterprise Support Fund to help grow our charity over the next 12 months.
The fund provides grants to help organisations like ours rebuild from COVID-19, so we can become more sustainable. It is established in partnership by The National Lottery Community Fund and five social enterprise support agencies – The School for Social Entrepreneurs, The Big Issue Invest, Key Fund, Resonance, and UnLtd.
Over the next 12 months, the grant will help us to:
- Improve our Community Clubs across London so more disabled people can come together to enjoy inclusive sport
- Deliver more inclusive sport and physical activity coaching with our partners across London
- Provide more disability and awareness training courses so more partners can deliver inclusive sport
Peter Ackred, CEO of Disability Sports Coach, said, ‘Thank you to all the partners of the Social Enterprise Support Fund and all National Lottery players who have made this grant possible.
‘COVID-19 had a huge impact on us – all face-to-face activities like our sports clubs were postponed. Disabled people told us they felt lonelier than ever. This grant will help us re-establish and grow our services, so we can enhance the lives of more disabled people through sport over the next 12 months.’
