83 Community Club members from South London joined us on Tuesday 19th February for our fourth February half-term ClubGames
Members from Club Southwark, Club Sutton, Club Wandsworth, Club Lambeth and our newly started Club Lambeth Kids came together at The Castle Centre for another fantastic ClubGames event. With numbers exceeding 80, more disabled people are getting active every year with no signs of slowing down!
Our club members were also joined by Generate, Lambeth College, Royal Society for Blind Children, Salmon Youth Centre and Southwark Resource Centre as well as new individuals.
We had a very energetic morning with participants enjoying Dance Aerobics (delivered by Everyone Active), Goalball (Goalball UK), Cricket (Surrey Cricket Foundation) and Sitting Volleyball provided by our very own DSC coaches. Every activity was flooded with members wanting to try new & old sports.
Following the morning excitement, participants were then involved in a Cricket competition lead by Surrey Cricket Foundation. It was an incredibly tight final result (just 2 points between 1st & 2nd) but it was Lambeth College & Club Lambeth that took home the win. Huge well done to all our participants that took part to make it a great competition!
During moments of down time, participants found out about more activities in their area through our marketplace stall holders including Disability Advice Service Lambeth, Fulham FC Foundation, Southwark Council, Everyone Active & ourselves.
We hope we managed to inspire all our members to take part in more activities and we look forward to seeing more participants in one of our Community Clubs.
