Disability Sports Coach is seeking an individual to join the current board members specialising in Charity Governance
Founded in 2006 by Peter Ackred, the current CEO of the charity, Disability Sports Coach (DSC) is an award-winning provider of disability sport and physical activity. The charity started as a private company, which in 2013 turned into a charity. From its conception, we have delivered to over 60,000 disabled people by supporting organisations, training professionals and establishing a network of accessible Community Clubs.
Over the last 6 months, we have been reviewing our skill set at board level, and to enhance the positive work that the former and existing members of the board have produced, we have a new board member position available.
Disability Sports Coach is seeking a new individual to join the current board members, specialising in:
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to increase sport and physical activity for disabled people and experience of working within the charity sector. These trustee positions on the board will provide advice, guide the organisation on best practice and generate valuable contacts within the third sector.
They will need to be available for at least 4 trustee meetings per year in London, plus 2 development planning days per year.
This trustee position is a voluntary role, but is vital in helping the charity provide sporting opportunities to thousands of disabled people each year.
