New yoga programme for the sight and hearing impaired

“We wanted to provide exercise tailored to the needs of people with sensory loss who often face many barriers to keeping active”

DSC have teamed up with Sense to co-deliver yoga sessions for adults aged 16 and over, who have sight and hearing impairments. The 10 week programme will start on the 16th September from 2pm at Pancras Square Leisure Centre, N1C 4AG.

The yoga sessions, funded by Sport England, is the first structured sports programme to get people with dual sensory impairment and additional disabilities more active through sport and exercise.

Ian Carpenter, Sense’s National Sports Manager says “We wanted to provide exercise tailored to the needs of people with sensory loss who often face many barriers to keeping active.”

DSC are very excited to support Sense for the 10 week programme and ensure their service users are getting the best experience possible.
