The event was a year-end celebration for our 13 Community Clubs, as well as a chance for all disabled people to come and have a go at 19 different sports. Over 200 disabled people attended the event, which was Kensington Leisure Centres largest since it’s opening in February 2015.
Ben Quilter, Judo Paralympian and DSC Patron who opened the event said:
“The festival was an excellent platform for disabled people to find out more about sporting opportunities on offer to them throughout London. It was a truly brilliant day!”
Rachel Laybourne from the London 2012 GB Volleyball team delivered on behalf of Volleyball England and presented DSC Club awards. Volleyball England was one of 16 sporting governing bodies delivering sports on the day in partnership with DSC.
Kensington Leisure Centre hosts one of DSC’s Community Clubs every Saturday from 11am-1pm. The Club will return in September after the summer break.
