Summer Festival Birthday Wish #4 – Frequently Asked Questions

We’re answering your most frequently asked questions so you can enjoy the day without a worry. If we have missed any of your questions don’t forget you can contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.

Before the event

  1. Do I need to register beforehand?
    You can register using this link: https://dscsummerfestival2019.eventbrite.com. Limited places on the door.
  2. What time does registration open?
    Registration opens at 10am however you can register at any point throughout the day. All participants will be given a wristband once registered.
  3. Is there a charge for the Summer Festival?
    Entry is £3 per participants – this includes disabled participants and children under 16. Parents, carers, and support staff go free. A group discount of £2 if offered for groups of 15 or more.
  4. Can I register a group?
    Groups must register with Lauren before the event by emailing laurenm@disabilitysportscoach.co.uk.
  5. Is parking available?
    Parking is £3.50 for up to 5 hours.There are a limited number of blue badge bays.
  6. What is the closest tube station?
    Latimer Road and Ladbroke Grove tube stations are within walking distance as well as plenty of bus routes. Plan your journey here. 
  7. What should I bring?
    Suncream, water and money for ice-cream, club t-shirts and the tombola, if you want to have go!
  8. What should I wear?
    Anything you can move around in, preferably trainers. Accessible changing rooms with hoists are available to change throughout the day, especially if you want to put your new club t-shirt on.
  9. Can my friends and family attend too?
    Yes, the event is open to you, your friends and family! Please register any siblings that come. Parents, carers and support workers do not need to register.

During the event

  1. Do I have to stay in the venue the whole day?
    No you can leave and re-enter whenever you want
  2. Is Westway Sports Centre accessible?
    Westway Sports & Fitness Centre is fully accessible with the majority of the event on one floor. Slopes are used to enter the main hall.
  3. Is food and drink provided?
    Food and drink is not provided. Please bring water with you & refill using the water fountains. Please bring your own lunch but there is a café and ice cream van on site with shops nearby.
  4. Do I have to sign up for activities?
    No each sports station is drop in. You can try any sport you, for as long as you want, when you want!
  5. Is there anywhere I can keep my bags?
    There is no designated area for bags, participants must keep their valuables with them at all times. Lockers are available in the changing rooms.
