This course provides an introduction to disability awareness in sport helping you to feel more confident when working with disabled people in a sport setting

Who is the course for?

This is an introductory course and is ideal for coaches, teachers, volunteers and anyone working with disabled people who want to become more knowledgeable about working with disabled people.

What the course delivers

  • Learn about different types of disability and disability legislation
  • Learn and apply the principles of how to adapt and modify activities for different impairment groups with scenarios and tasks
  • Examine social attitudes and barriers towards disabled people
  • Explore different coaching and communication styles needed for different impairment group
  • Overview of disability sport competitions

Duration

The course is 3.5 hours with a refreshment break
